The TN850 yields more than twice the pages of the standard TN820 and fits the same printers. For offices and shared printers with regular high-volume output, the TN850 delivers a significantly lower cost per page.

About the DR-820 Drum Unit

The TN850 toner cartridge works with the DR-820 drum unit (sold separately). The drum unit typically lasts through multiple toner replacements most users replace toner 3–4 times before the drum needs replacing.

Note: When your printer shows "Drum End Soon" or "Replace Drum", replace the DR-820 drum unit, not the toner. This pack contains toner cartridges only your existing drum unit stays in the printer.

How to Install Brother TN850 Toner Cartridges

1. Open the front cover of your Brother laser printer
2. Pull the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly straight out
3. Press the release lever and slide the old TN850 toner cartridge out of the DR-820 drum unit
4. Remove the new cartridge from packaging and shake it gently 5–6 times side to side to evenly distribute the toner
5. Remove the protective cap and any sealing tape completely
6. Insert the new cartridge firmly into the DR-820 drum unit until it clicks into place
7. Reinsert the drum and toner assembly into the printer and close the front cover
8. Print a test page to confirm correct installation and print quality

If printed pages appear light: Remove the cartridge, gently rock it side to side to redistribute toner, reinstall and test again.

Do not touch the drum roller. Fingerprints on the drum surface can cause permanent print defects.
